How to Donate

Your generous contributions help children in need succeed in school and in life!

For every $35 raised, a child will receive a sturdy backpack filled with supplies to start the school year ready and prepared to learn.

If you have backpacks or supplies, please email us at info@yolobackpacks.org or call our third district office at 530-666-8230 to arrange delivery of your items.

We are also accept cash donations year round.

Don't forget that 100% of all donations to Backpacks for Kids are reserved for Yolo County children only!

Donations are tax deductible, subject to the extent of the law under the generosity of the Yolo County Children’s Alliance.  Tax identification number available upon request. Please consult your tax advisor on how your donation to Yolo County Backpacks for Kids is tax deductible.

Items Currently Needed

All items must be new and unused.  Items will go to children kindergarten to seniors in high schools.  Though all donations are greatly appreciated, only certain items can be accepted. 

We have consulted local schools for the most needed items.  Items such as pencil sharpeners, calculators, and copy paper will be donated directly to schools in need.

The following our most needed items:

Backpacks—medium to large. Preferably solid colors. (some schools prohibit all red backpacks) No rolling bookbags.
